Job Description
Mainframe Optimization Architect (10+ Years of experience)
· Assess legacy platform and provide recommendations to optimize systems, application and tools
· Engage in Mainframe Performance and Capacity periodic reviews and provide suggestions for improvements
· Identify and evaluate inhouse modernization techniques available in z/OS platform
· Asses the current state of Legacy mainframe systems and identify the modernization areas. Especially in the mainframe tool migration areas such as Scheduler Migration, SCM tools, Database, Mainframe tool exit strategy etc..
· Experience working with multi-culture, distributed offshore and onshore development teams in dynamic and complex environment
· Assumes principal technical role in demonstrations, furnishing technical expertise and answering client inquiries with regard to both hardware and software
· Performing brief Pilots and Proofs of Concept.
· Interface with delivery partners as required to design an end-to-end solution
· Work with Clients Infrastructure team to assess the need for hardware and software requirements as per the recommendation need.
· Participate in all governance reviews.
· Experience as a Performance Analyst with focus on Mainframe DB2, IMS , CICS and MQ
· Strong knowledge of DB2/IMS Internals and a fair amount of DB2/IMS systems and Application programming background
· Strong knowledge of CICS Internals and a fair amount of CICS systems and Application programming background
· Strong knowledge of MQ Internals and a fair amount of MQ systems and Application programming background
· Extensive experience in resolving performance issues in a mainframe online and database environment
· Rich experience in working in tools, like, Omegamon, BMC and CA products related to DB2, CICS, IMS and storage
· Should be conversant with SMF records or SAS / MXG or TDS or Pivotor or intellimagic and able to extract performance related information pertaining to DB2, CICS, IMS and MQ
· Experience with RMF, SMF, LPAR Capping and Weights
· Exposure to SAS reporting tools
· Should be able to develop analytical models and perform capacity sizing for new online / batch workloads
· Experience in handling the PMRs of ISVs and Solving the issues
