General Description:
- The Senior Manager of R&D Data Steward owns the strategic and operational oversight of R&D data
- governance. In this role will shape the overall data strategy, manage stewardship teams, and ensure that our
- data assets drive business value, maintain compliance, and enable scalable analytics and AI initiatives
Essential Functions of the job:
- Strategy & Framework
- Define and evolve the R&D data governance roadmap in partnership with senior leadership.
- Translate enterprise objectives into governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Operational Leadership
- Manage daily stewardship operations, ensuring consistent application of policies and SLAs.
- Coordinate multiple teams to maintain the data catalog, metadata, and access models.
- Oversee issue-resolution workflows and ensure timely delivery of data-governance services.
• Quality & Compliance Oversight
- Establish and monitor governance KPIs—data quality scores, compliance metrics, and adoption rates.
- Lead preparation for regulatory audits, ensuring robust documentation and evidence of controls.
• Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Drive enterprise-wide change initiatives—training programs, awareness campaigns, and feedback loops.
- Engage with functional leaders to prioritize high-value data use cases and measure impact.
- Report on governance performance and communicate strategic insights to the leadership team
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Life Sciences, Data Management, Information
- Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years’ experience in data governance, stewardship, or MDM; including 3+ years in a managerial capacity.
- Demonstrated success shaping data strategy and leading high-performing governance
- teams in a regulated environment.
- Deep expertise in R&D data domains, FAIR principles, and GxP/non-GxP compliance frameworks.
