Job Description :

• The high level responsibilities of the Core DB engineers (Oracle/SQL Server) will be as below:  
• Install and configure the database instances for optimal performance and security. 
• Optimize database performance to ensure applications run smoothly without performance bottlenecks. 
• Ensuring the database is secure against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats. 
• Ensuring the database remains available even during failures and can be quickly restored to a previous, stable state if needed. 
• Regularly applying patches and upgrades to the database system to ensure it's up-to-date with the latest features, performance improvements, and security fixes. 
• Planning for future resource needs based on usage trends 
• Migrating data between versions of a DBMS (e.g., from Oracle 13c to 19c) 
• Migration databases from On-Prem to AWS Cloud services.
• Performing cross-platform data migrations (e.g., from SQL Server to MySQL) 
• Integrating databases with external systems (ETL processes, third-party APIs) 
• Keeping detailed records of database configurations, changes, incidents, and processes to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and compliance.
